Important Reminders

Illness

If your child isn't feeling their best before school, we kindly ask that you consider keeping them home to help keep our classroom healthy and happy. Your support in limiting the spread of germs is truly appreciated! Please remember, your child should be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school.

You may call the school nurse (Jill Kerwin) if you need more information at (732) 297-2941 ext. 3553 or email her at Jill.Kerwin@sbschools.org.

All absences MUST be put into Genesis or you can call the main office directly: Cambridge Elementary (732) 297-2941.

Snacks & Lunch

Every day, students will enjoy their snacks and lunch in the classroom. We kindly ask that you bring snacks from home. You can either pack a lunch or purchase one at school. To help keep things organized, please make sure both the snack and lunch bags are labeled before sending them to school. Please make sure to include any utensils your child may need for their lunch/snack.

Allergen Aware, Not Allergen Free

Students should bring a healthy snack from home each day (snacks cannot be purchased at school). While our school is not nut-free, we are allergy-aware. This means that we need the help of all families to reinforce our message that students only eat their own food and NEVER share food or drink with others. This year, we have students with food allergies in our classroom. Your support in reinforcing that message is greatly appreciated to keep all students safe. If you have any allergy concerns, please reach out to the school nurse, who will in turn be in communication with me.

Birthday Celebrations

In our classroom, we love celebrating our students' birthdays and making them feel extra special! While we cannot have food, balloons, or goody bags for these celebrations, there are still many fun and meaningful ways to honor your child's special day. If you would like us to celebrate your child's birthday in class, please let me know at least one week in advance. We have plenty of fun ways to make your child's day special in the classroom โ€” this might include sharing a favorite book during a read-aloud, leading a special morning meeting activity, or enjoying a free-choice activity they love.
